What is the best age to start learning?
As someone who has been teaching music for over 20 years, I have been fortunate enough to have taught students from every age group imaginable. And the one constant that I continue to see is the misconception by many adults that there's a certain “window” that their child needs to start learning music by. The age varies, depending on the parent, but the age limit seems to be around the age of 12. This imaginary window has even prevented many adults and adolescents from wanting to take lessons, with many basing this off of the false idea that it'd be too late to start learning from scratch or that there would be no point in doing so. I'm here to tell you that this cannot be further from the truth.
